The University of Alabama Nonlinear Intelligent
Structures Laboratory (NIS) is a teaching and research laboratory featuring
state-of-the-art equipment for experimental and numerical analysis of dynamics,
vibrations and control of mechanical systems with applications to Micro- and
NanoElectroMechanical Systems (MEMS and NEMS), energy harvesting, smart
structures, automotive, and aerospace structures. NIS emphasis in all these
areas is on modeling, closed-form and numerical solution of the response,
experimental investigations and the consequent challenges due to
nonlinearities.
NIS laboratory is located at 3034
South Engineering Research Center (SERC).
