PRECISION METROLOGY LAB

The mission of the Precision Metrology Laboratory is to advance research on manufacturing related metrology issues such as accuracy and surface finish. It also supports, and has been integrated with the Machining Processes Laboratory to characterize machined parts, to evaluate process performance, and to support process modeling. This lab currently houses a CMM (coordinate measurement machine), a high power measurement/metallographic optical microscope, a stylus surface roughness measurement device, and several metrology hand tools.

Key faculty involved in this lab includes Dr. Y. Kevin Chou (ME).
