DEVELOPMENTAL TEST, ANALYSIS AND QUALITY CONTROL LAB

The mission of this lab is to conduct innovative and applied research and development work to further understand the impact of design and manufacturing issues in the generation and transmission of vibratory energy. Since poor noise and vibration characteristics can give the impression of low quality or defects, a primary goal of the laboratory is to develop a state-of-the-art test facility for vibration and noise studies. The laboratory infrastructure will be used to perform developmental, quality control and certification testing per ANSI, ARI, SAE, ASME and ISO standards. Through direct interaction with surrounding industries, the laboratory will also serve both as a resource center housing advanced research and trouble-shooting equipment as well as a problem-solving facility.

Key faculty involved in this lab are Dr. Teik Lim (ME), Dr. Sally McInerny (AEM), and Dr. W. Steve Shepard (ME).
